On 23, 24 and 29 April 2015 the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption held public hearings following a call for written submissions.

In February 2015 the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption released a discussion paper outlining the relevant issues for his review of the legislative schemes designed to manage complaints about public administration and the Police. The discussion paper also called for written submissions.

Submissions have now closed. The Commissioner received 21 submissions, and has scheduled public hearings for Thursday 23, Friday 24 and Tuesday 28 April, 2015.

Presentations at the public hearings will be by invitation only. Members of the public and the media are welcome to attend to the capacity of the room.

The public hearings will be held in Hearing Room 3, Level 7, in the Riverside Centre on North Terrace, Adelaide.

A schedule of presentations will be available on the ICAC website in due course.

On 31 October 2014 the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption announced that he would be conducting public inquiries in relation to:

  1. the legislative scheme governing the oversight and management of complaints regarding the conduct of members of South Australia Police;
  2. the practices, policies and procedures of the Police Ombudsman; and
  3. the legislative scheme governing the making of complaints and reports to the Police Ombudsman, the Ombudsman and the Office for Public Integrity with a particular focus on whether or not the complaint / report processes can be consolidated in one office.

After taking submissions from specified agencies, the Commissioner will make a call for written submissions from the general public and the Commissioner may, on invitation, hear oral submissions.

The call for submissions will be advertised in newspapers and by way of the ICAC website.
