Draft Public Interest Disclosure Guidelines

On 18 April 2019 it was proclaimed that the Public Interest Disclosure Act 2019 (PID Act) would come into operation on 1 July 2019.

Section 14 of the PID Act provides that the Commissioner may publish guidelines for the purpose of that Act.

The guidelines will not come into force until the PID Act comes into operation on 1 July 2019.

However, in order to assist agencies to prepare for the commencement of  the PID Act a draft copy of the guidelines has been published for reference.

This version was uploaded on 17 May 2019. It replaces previous draft versions. Please be advised that some minor changes to the guidelines may still occur before the PID Act commences.
