Seminar: Internal Investigation Concepts & Principles

If you are involved in conducting, overseeing or acting upon the outcome of an internal investigation, it is important to understand the concepts and principles that underpin a good investigation.

Who can apply?

The seminar is open to public officers employed in the public sector and local government.

Places will only be offered to people employed in either of these sectors.

You will not be eligible to enrol in the follow up internal investigations workshop unless you have completed this seminar.

Structure

This is a 2.5 hour seminar. 

The seminar will address:

  • the purpose and limitations of an internal investigation
  • what can go wrong in an internal investigation and tips for avoiding common pitfalls
  • the legal principles that underpin an investigation
  • the importance of investigation planning

This seminar is presented by ICAC senior legal officers.
