Outcome

  • Pleaded guilty to eight counts of abuse of public office (and two additional charges brought by SA Police).
  • Sentenced in the District Court to imprisonment for five years, six months and one week, with a non-parole period of two years and six months.
  • The sentence imposed in the District Court was appealed to the Supreme Court of South Australia (Court of Criminal Appeal).
  • On 11 May 2018 the Court of Criminal Appeal allowed the appeal and re-sentenced the appellant to imprisonment for three years and ten months, with a non-parole period of 21 months.
