Working in the high-performing Office for Public Integrity, the Assessment Officer plays a critical role in supporting the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption preserve integrity in South Australian public administration.

Utilising highly developed communication skills and liaising with a range of stakeholders, the Assessment Officer gathers and interprets information to assess complaints and reports, making recommendations about appropriate actions to the Principal Assessment Officer, Manager Assessments and Commissioner.

The Assessment Officer also monitors and reviews assessments of complaints and reports about police conduct made by SA Police to make recommendations to the Manager Assessments regarding consultation with SA Police.

Requirements

To be successful in the role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in law.
  • Proven experience in dealing with the public, specifically through interviewing, interpreting and assessing information received.
  • An ability to exercise judgement to make recommendations in accordance with legislation.

Special conditions

Applicants may be required to undergo psychometric profiling. 

Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a statutory declaration verifying their statement of claims.

Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory security and integrity assessment and evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency.
