Investigator / Senior Investigator

$120,080 - $137,078 per annum plus superannuation
Contract appointment up to 5 years 

Working within a multi-disciplinary team to conduct investigations into corruption in public administration, the Senior Investigator / Investigator plays a critical role in supporting the Commissioner to preserve integrity in South Australian public administration.

Undertaking complex and sensitive investigations, the Senior Investigator / Investigator is responsible for identifying and collecting evidence, undertaking investigative interviews and preparing statements to ensure the highest quality briefs of evidence for prosecution and /or reports to the Commissioner. 

Persons engaged as Senior Investigators will be responsible for leading investigations and mentoring Investigators to ensure the application of best practice investigation techniques.

Requirements

To be successful in either role you must be able to demonstrate:

  • Successful completion of a detective training course, investigations training course or equivalent training.
  • Significant experience in investigations in a law enforcement agency including the application of investigative and cognitive interviewing techniques.
  • High level written and oral communication skills.

Special conditions

Applicants may be required to undergo psychometric profiling. 

Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a statutory declaration verifying their statement of claims.

Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory security and integrity assessment and evidence of unrestricted Australian work rights.

More than one position available. Successful candidates will be merit listed for proposed start dates in November 2019 and early 2020. Appointment will be on a contract basis from 12 months up to 5 years.

Engagement as a Senior Investigator or Investigator, and relevant remuneration will be determined by an assessment of the successful applicants’ skills and experience against the ICAC’s Investigator Competency framework.
