About ICAC

The Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) is an independent statutory body established to promote integrity within South Australian public administration. ICAC investigates reports of alleged corruption within public administration and actively prevents corruption by undertaking evaluations of the practices, policies and procedures of public agencies. ICAC also delivers education programs which seek to guide the conduct of public officers in the South Australian public sector.

The Role

Reporting to the Principal Intelligence Analyst, the Intelligence Analyst provides high level support in the production of intelligence outputs and outcomes for the investigation and prevention of corruption in public administration.

Working within a multi-disciplinary environment, the Intelligence Analyst demonstrates excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills.

Success in the role is underpinned by the ability to work in partnership with key internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in the use of computer systems and applications in an investigative or intelligence environment.  They will be familiar with using information management systems to interpret data and provide advice.  They will have experience in critical analysis and have great attention to detail.  They will be keen to learn new complex technologies,  work with limited supervision and will have highly developed written skills.

Special conditions

Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory security and integrity assessment.

The Role

Working as an integral member of the Legal, Prevention and Compliance Section, the Operations Compliance Officer supports the Manager Operational Compliance to ensure the Commission’s investigative and other operational activity is undertaken in compliance with all relevant legislation. The role provides significant management and administration to assist in ensuring agency legislative compliance for telecommunication interception and surveillance device warrants, authorisations and notices, as well as preparing operational compliance reports and coordinating an internal audit programme of the Commission’s operational activities.

The incumbent will have excellent organisational skills, accountability and attention to detail, and will take responsibility for and effectively prioritise and manage multiple, and at times conflicting, tasks and deadlines to achieve operational and business priorities. Strong interpersonal skills are essential with the ability to effectively liaise and interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

To be successful in the role you must possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in law enforcement, governance or legislative compliance
  • Demonstrated experience in applying legislative provisions to ensure compliance and best practice within telephone intercept and surveillance device regimes
  • Experience in capturing and cataloguing electronic and physical records within a compliance framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk and manage data to ensure service delivery requirements are achieved.
  • Experience using enterprise case and/or content management systems.
  • Strong communications skills both written and verbal.
  • High attention to detail.
