The article examines several case studies from the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) and other jurisdictions involving employees who were absent without approved leave, used sick leave for recreational activities, or took leave to undertake unapproved secondary employment. While the circumstances varied, common themes emerged including dishonesty, failures to comply with leave requirements, and a lack of transparency regarding secondary employment.
