The report A Dependent Commission Against Corruption examines the problems that arise from the inability of the Commission to refer matters directly to the Director of Public Prosecutions, or even to communicate with the Director’s officers regarding an investigation. It recommends that the ICAC Act be amended to reinstate the capacity for the Commission to refer a matter to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
