The Gatekeepers: Corruption risks with ministerial advisors highlights the risks to government of the trust and influence held by Ministerial Advisors where awareness of expected conduct or vulnerability to corruption is limited and appointments are not made on merit-based recruitment and screening processes.

Recommendations were provided to strengthen the recruitment, induction, training, governance and accountability of ministerial staff.
