Commissioner Lander announces an ICAC investigation into the sale of government land at Gillman

This afternoon Commissioner Lander Independent Commissioner Against Corruption, gave evidence before the Parliamentary Crime and Public Integrity Policy Committee.

He announced a review of legislative schemes governing the making of complaints and an evaluation of the practices, policies and procedures of the Police Ombudsman.

On Friday 31 October 2014 Commissioner Lander will appear before the Crime and Public Integrity Policy Committee to give evidence relating to the operation of his office and the Office for Public Integrity.

The Anti-Corruption Branch of South Australia Police (SAPOL), as required under the Directions and Guidelines published by the Commissioner, reported to the Office for Public Integrity (OPI) a matter suspected to be corruption in public administration.

A new era in law enforcement will begin in South Australia as the State’s first Independent Commissioner Against Corruption, the Hon Bruce Lander QC, takes up his task.

Justice Bruce Lander is pleased to advise that the SAPOL Officer in Charge of Major Crime Investigations Branch, Detective Superintendent Grant Moyle, has been selected to lead the investigation team of the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption.

South Australia’s first Independent Commissioner Against Corruption will be Federal Court Judge Bruce Lander.
